General Event Rules

  • Kounter Hit is a CASH ONLY event
  • Payment is due when you arrive at the event
  • All tournaments are limited to 24 entrants per game
  • All competitors are REQUIRED to check in before their respective bracket begins.
  • If you do not check in within 5 minutes of the bracket starting you will be DQ’d.
  • In Person registration is allowed

NO smoking of any kind (vaping included), alcohol, or illegal substances are allowed at Kounter Hit

I've registered for Kounter Hit. What do I need to bring with me?

  1. Cash to cover your entry fees
  2. Your preferred controller
  3. A USB type A cable to connnect to the console or PC stations

This is my first tournament. What should I expect at Kounter Hit?

Chill people, good vibes, lots of button mashing, meeting new friends that can and will help you on your fighting game journey.

What's the story behind Kounter Hit?

I started Kounter Hit in June of 2019 because I picked up Mortal Kombat 11 on release, and had been playing it seriously. I wanted to test my skill against other people in person, mostly to ask questions about the game, but soon realized that there weren’t any tournaments or meetups in the Longview/Tyler area. After a couple trips to tournaments in the DFW area I decided to start my own tournament. After many iterations, and the COVID-19 pandemic the current iteration of Kounter Hit started in September 2023 with the release of Mortal Kombat 1.
